Tiny Gratitudes

Tiny Gratitudes #1

a pinch of salt

dash of pepper

a pat of butter

dollops of sauce

sprinkles of seasoning

drizzles of flavor

a drop of tiny gratitude

to and from our taste buds

(Lisa Valentine 11/23/24)

Tiny Gratitudes #2

eyelashes

a fingerprint

age spots

a teardrop

hair strands

a tooth

cells of all kinds

a body full of tiny parts

that make me whole

brimming with gratitude

(Lisa Valentine 11/27/24)

The unique design that captured my eye at a hotel we were staying at a couple of weeks ago was soothing to me. It wasn’t a tiny design on a wall, but it was a tiny moment of peace and comfort. The poems of “Tiny Gratitudes” that I enjoyed writing around Thanksgiving were a good outlet, putting pen to paper to deepen my sense of gratefulness.

Look for tiny gratitudes in your life today. They can grow into big dollops of contentment and humble grace.
